New York City is the most populous city in America. It is home to about eight million people and described as the cultural capital of the world. The city is bursting with art and sports. The New York Marathon is the largest marathon in the world.
Why am I loading your head up with all these facts about New York City, you ask? Well, in two weeks I will also call the city my home. I am leaving Atlanta in the hopes of being surrounded by more creativity and culture. I hope to expand my writing in a bigger city, and I believe that I will be successful in New York.
It took a lot of courage for me to take this step. I am leaving behind my whole family with the exception of my husband; but one loss can mean much more gains. I want to tell everyone who is afraid to follow their dreams that you can do it. Don’t be afraid of not succeeding. Success will come if you work hard for it. Take that trip to Africa. Tell your crush you like him and want to take him out. Submit that short story to The New Yorker, even though it’s damn near impossible to get published in that magazine. Whatever your heart tells you to do it, DO IT! And if you fail, you’ll know how to succeed next time.
